Blogosphere, Say What?

Conceptually, “My Blog is Better Than Your Blog” is straight forward. The name says it all, on a serious note and a deeper level, the idea behind it was to just let readers know what I was thinking and or doing. Which therefore why I titled my blog, “My Blog is Better Than Your Blog” because I felt that because of posting the way I did, my blog was unique. Every time right before I blogged I thought about my blog’s name and thought how I would live up to that.

“Where Did the Days Go?” is the best blog post I posted. Some of the reasons why I believe this to be the case is I blogged on a deeper and slightly more on an intellectual level. I felt that for at least one of my blogs I needed to be more serious and allow my readers more insight into my thoughts and understand where I am coming from, especially as a unique individual. I explained in this specific blog post how amazed I was in the fact that my first year as a college student was almost over and I just felt a little sad due to this soon to be abrupt ending. I also described how both of my semesters were at different ends of the spectrum. That my first semester was an academic failure but a life lesson success. My second semester I described how academically well I’ve been doing and there have been fewer life lessons learned. I then showed readers insights I had about the future and how they are worrying me slightly, but I am ready to overcome any obstacle that comes in my way.

My first thought on the blogosphere is what is a blogosphere? A good definition I have found about what a blogosphere is, stated by an article on Wikipedia, “a blogosphere is a collective term encompassing all blogs and their interconnections. It is the perception that blogs exist together as a connected community (or as a collection of connected communities) or as a social network.” Some good examples of a blogosphere would be Facebook, Myspace, Xanga, and many more! With that being stated, my second thought on the blogosphere is if it is a good thing or a bad thing? A blogosphere is a great tool to have in this day and age because our world is growing exponentially fast, and it is difficult for us to keep up with contacting our friends individually, especially that a lot of friends could easily be in other countries. Having a blogosphere to access is so genius it’s simple. Enabling us to post our thoughts on the web and sharing with our friends and or people we do not even know, allowing us to expand our connections around the world. A blogosphere is fantastic allowing authors to take a different approach on writing, and allowing their readers to get to know them more personally than a book or essay would.

In the end, a blogosphere is an amazing tool that we humans have access to in the 21st century, and should take advantage of, because the world is not going to stop growing. To actually make a mark of who you are as a person, participating in a blogosphere is the way to go.
